SHIPPING POLICY - Sugar Flowers by Kelsie Cakes
Our Delicate-But-Durable Shipping Promise
Every sugar flower that leaves our Tampa studio is handcrafted with care and packaged with precision to arrive safely at your door. Here's everything you need to know about shipping your ready-to-ship sugar flowers.
Multi-Supplier Orders We participate in Shopify Product Network and Shopify Collective, which means some products in our store are fulfilled by trusted partner suppliers. If your order contains items from multiple suppliers, you may receive separate shipments with different tracking numbers. Each supplier's shipping timeline and policies will apply to their respective items.
Processing Time Ready-to-ship items are in stock and ship within 1-2 business days of your order. Orders placed Friday through Sunday will begin processing the following Monday. All the sugar flowers are stored and shipped from in the same Tampa based studio that they are created in.
Items fulfilled by partner suppliers may have different processing times, which will be noted on the product page.
Shipping Methods & Carriers
Domestic Orders (United States)
We ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx with tracking for all domestic orders from our studio. Partner suppliers may use different carriers (USPS, UPS, or DHL). You'll receive tracking numbers via email as soon as each item ships so you can follow your flowers every step of the way.
International Orders
We're thrilled to ship our ready-to-ship sugar flowers worldwide! International orders are shipped via USPS International Priority or Express, FedEx, UPS, or DHL with full tracking. Delivery times vary by destination country.
Domestic Shipping (United States)
- Standard shipping: 2-5 business days via USPS Priority Mail
- Expedited options available at checkout for time-sensitive events
- All orders include full tracking and insurance
International Shipping
- Available to most countries worldwide
- Shipping times: 6-10 business days for most destinations (may vary by country)
- Carrier: USPS International Priority or Express with tracking
- All international orders include tracking numbers
International Duties, Taxes & Customs
- Duties and import taxes are calculated and collected at checkout when possible, so you won't have surprise fees upon delivery
- For countries where duties cannot be pre-collected, you may be responsible for paying customs fees, duties, or taxes upon delivery—these fees are determined by your country's customs office and are not included in your order total
- Customs clearance can add 1-5 business days to delivery time depending on your country
- You are responsible for complying with your country's import regulations
Packaging & Protection Your sugar flowers are packaged in custom protective boxes with multiple layers of cushioning to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Typically, each flower is individually secured and the entire package is designed to withstand the rigors of shipping while keeping your delicate sugar flowers safe.
What Happens If Something Goes Wrong?
Minor Damage & Repairs
Sugar flowers are delicate but surprisingly durable! Small issues like chipped petals or minor cosmetic damage can often be fixed at home with simple techniques. Before requesting a replacement or refund, we'll provide you with step-by-step repair instructions and video tutorials to help you restore your flowers to perfect condition. Most minor damage takes just a few minutes to fix or disguise with a little cake decorating magic.
We only offer replacements or refunds for flowers that are so severely damaged they're completely unusable for your cake. Minor cosmetic issues, small breaks, or damage that occurs after delivery (during storage or handling) can typically be repaired using our guidance.
Damaged in Transit
While rare, shipping damage can happen. If your sugar flowers arrive damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and the packaging. We'll work with you to make it right.
We'll assess the damage and either:
- Provide repair instructions and resources to fix minor damage yourself
- Send a replacement if the item is still in stock and the damage is severe enough to make the flowers unusable
- Issue a full refund if the flowers are unusable and we no longer have the same or a comparable design in stock
Please note: We cannot offer replacements or refunds for damage that occurs outside of shipping, such as during storage, handling, or cake assembly. However, we're always happy to provide repair guidance to help you fix any issues.
Lost Packages
If tracking shows your package as lost or undelivered after 10 business days (domestic) or 20 business days (international), contact us immediately. We'll file a claim with the carrier and either send a replacement (if in stock) or issue a refund.
International Delivery Issues
If your international package is held at customs or returned due to customs issues, we cannot be responsible for customs fees, duties, or return shipping costs. We recommend monitoring your tracking closely and responding promptly to any customs notifications.
Important Note About Ready-to-Ship Items
Unlike our custom orders where we can remake damaged pieces, ready-to-ship items are limited inventory. If your item arrives damaged and we no longer have that design in stock, we'll issue a refund rather than a replacement. We cannot guarantee replacements will be available.
Delivery Address Please ensure your shipping address is correct at checkout. We ship to the address provided in your order and cannot be responsible for packages delivered to incorrect addresses. If you need to update your address, contact us immediately—we can only make changes before the order ships. We are able to ship to residential addresses or commercial addresses, just make sure your wedding vendor knows to expect a package from us if you choose to send it directly to your baker or venue!
Tracking & Delivery Confirmation All orders include tracking. You're responsible for monitoring your tracking information and being available to receive your package. We recommend shipping to an address where someone can accept delivery, as sugar flowers should not sit outside in extreme temperatures or inclement weather.
Duties & Taxes All prices are in USD. Domestic orders do not incur additional duties or taxes beyond your initial purchase price and shipping fee.
Currency & Payment Prices are displayed in USD. International customers can pay using their local currency and preferred payment method at checkout when available.
Partner Supplier Products For products fulfilled by our Shopify Product Network and Collective partners, their individual shipping policies apply. Shipping costs, delivery times, and return policies for partner products will be displayed at checkout and may differ from our studio's policies.
